Food additive

As new-type functional food additive, carnitine has been well accepted all over the world. Our state ministry of health has listed it as nutrition supplement. Now it is mainly used in baby milk powder, sports drink and weight reducing food, etc.

In recent years, more and more people are concerning about the important role of L-carnitine in baby's nutrition. L-carnitine needed by people are mainly from food or biosynthesis. Infant is incapable to synthesize sufficient carnitine for his normal metabolism, and has to get carnitine from mother milk. Howerver, for the change of social environment, many mothers have no sufficient milk to feed their babies, or they have no time to feed their babies for they have to work. Many infants have to be fed with milk powder, so L-carnitine should be added in babies' food. Many tests have improved that the added L-carnitine can promote the oxidation of fatty acid, and is good for babies' storage of nitrogen. Therefore, L-carnitine is necessary nutrition for infant.

For L-carnitine can promote the fat matabolism and accelerate energy producing, it is also additive of weight reducing food and sports drink. In 1989, French government has allowed L-carnitine as multi=purpose nitrition, and our state ministry of health has also listed L-carnitine as nutrition supplement. Recently, nutriment with L-carnitine has appeared in domestic market.

Choose on the functions of products

Acylated carnitine has a high purity. It is easy to be absorbed by human body owing to the functions of acylated transferase. It is mostly used in medicine.

Owing to the products' modification, compound salts series of carnitine is not easy to absorb moisture in the air. It has more choices in the taste. Used in producing capsule, tablet, powder, biscuits, solid drink. But pay attention to the ratio of L-carnitine in the compound salts.

Original products of carnitine:DL-Carnitine hyarochloride is the carnitine racemthe that are not separated. It is used for whetting the appetite and adjusting the functions of stomach and intestine. At present, L-carnitine can only be used in feedstuff additive for its biologicalactivity.

As original products, L-carnitine and L-Carnitine hyarochloride are applicable to the above uses. Owing to its strong moisture absorption,it is applicable to making drinks, injection, capsule, tablet and others. It is widely used in feedstuff for its high content of carnitine.
